Have you ever found yourself saying, “That’s just the way that I am.” If so, you’re not alone in that.
For the last week, I have been sharing a series with you that’s near and dear to my heart. It’s called,
Said Jesus Never.
If we’re not careful, we find ourselves living according to narratives, slang, marketing gimmicks, and societal norms.
But as believers, we cannot live according to any such things. We must live according to truth.
God’s word says, “And you will know the truth, and that truth will set you free” John 8:32. That word “truth” means “the reality of Jesus.” This is NOT “my truth.” It is not your feelings. It is not societal norms or slang or marketing slogans on a billboard, it is the essence of who Jesus is (identity) which shapes our lives and the freedom we walk in.
So ultimately, today, THIS IS YOUR WAKE UP CALL to no longer live based upon who other people say you are.
This is your wake up call to no longer live based upon your feelings or societal norms, your past or your pain.
Your identity is not based upon your behavior, it’s based upon who God says you are!
